It’s not a black and white situation, though. People suffer from mental illnesses that prevent them from thinking ‘Oh, if I just get through this time in my life, everything will be better’. And even then, it’s not always the case. People graduate, get a job etc and they’re still miserable and depressed.

It’s not a matter of graduating and suddenly everything’s better. It doesn’t work like that; I wish it did, but it doesn’t.

I can rationalise, but I can also sympathise with people who are going through so much in their life that they actually resort to harming themselves or even ending their life.
